I caught California King and Pillow Theory perform as part of Sunday night’s early show at the Mercury Lounge. What I will say about both acts live were that they were very, very good. California King had a bit more soulful, funky sound while Pillow Theory had more of punk rock vibe — sort of like Bad Brains meeting TV on the Radio and the Foo Fighters. I’ll be reviewing Pillow Theory’s latest EP, Meltdown shortly and want to save most of thoughts for that post but what I wanted to do with this post is essentially make this more of a photo essay.
